Mr. Ahmad Ikram Lone is the CEO of Lone Group & Co. He with his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for undertaking commercial projects, that are transformational in nature, has built prosperous businesses in the areas of Textile & Apparel, Real Estate, IT and Hospitality sectors in Pakistan. He is currently the Chairman-BoD of the Gujranwala Business Centre, The President of the Pakistan-Romania Business Council - North Chapter, The Senior Vice President of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum, The Senior Vice Chairman of the FPCCI Pak-Iraq Business Council, The Chairman of SMEs Development Committee of the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He has previously served as the Vice Chariman of Czech-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, A Director of the the FPCCI Pakistan-Norway Business Council and as The Secretary General of the Pak-SCO Business Council.
Mr. Ahmad has a Master of Commerce Degree in International Business & Marketing from The University of New South Wales - Australia. Since joining his family business in 2008, Mr. Ahmad has had a strong orientation towards forging local and international business partnerships. From his early days as a businessman, he had understood that if the local business community of Pakistan wanted to prosper, it needed to collaborate effectively with its global counterparts. With this mission in his mind, he has worked tirelessly with different trade bodies and business councils across Pakistan to promote international economic cooperation by regularly facilitating trade delegations to other countries, organising trade shows & seminars and welcoming foreign dignitaries & trade delegations to Pakistan. He has twice been awarded the DIG Businessman of the Year Award for his contributions to enhancing global trade and business networking worldwide. His efforts to highlight the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) and the Gujranwala Business Centre (GBC) on world forums have also been acknowledged multiple times. Mr. Ahmad has also been instrumental in organising the last four editions of Made In Gujranwala Industrial Expo under the GCCI and the GBC banners.
His unconditional commitment to serving the community and stakeholders drives him to excel. He is very keen on developing and improving the SMEs & cottage industry of Pakistan, the largest employer in the manufacturing sector employing about 78 per cent of the non-agricultural labour force. He believes that it is imperative to advance the small-scale industry of Pakistan on modern lines as it is intertwined with our cultural heritage and economic improvement. For the past seven years, he has been working very closely with the SMEs of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad & Karachi to develop textile & apparel products for international markets. His group of companies has been instrumental in uplifting many small companies in the region by providing them with the required financial and marketing assistance to reach global markets.
